Welcome to the online version of the Swaffham Crier, the village magazine for Swaffham Prior. On this site you can read a PDF of the current issue and adverts; and also browse back through past issues (see lists below).
For the earliest years listed below, some editions are missing because we no longer have access to the master copy and in other cases some contents have not transferred perfectly to the web version because of incompatibilities between versions of the software used to produce the Crier. Our webmaster from 2003 to 2011 produced nicely formatted HTML versions of the Crier which allow searching down to article level and these are accessible with their own index and search here. For years prior to 1998, there are no electronic master copies as the Crier was not produced in this way.
Starting in April 2003, the Crier has had its own cryptic crossword for which the the village pub, The Red Lion, very generously provides a prize. The terms and conditions for this prize are available here and on the back of the prize certificate.
